Friends’ ensemble clearly had a tight relationship over 20 years after the show ended.
The popular show aired for a decade and is still seen in many households today.
With this in mind, Matthew Perry’s premature death has devastated millions of people.
The 54-year-old was discovered deceased in a hot tub at a house in Los Angeles by authorities in the early hours of this morning (October 29).
An inquiry is presently being conducted to determine the cause of death.
According to police officials, there has also been no evidence of foul play.
In the aftermath of the terrible news, tributes to Perry have poured in, with many Friends fans turning to social media to post old interview snippets of the 17 Again actor.
One interview that has gone viral is one in which Perry is interviewed alongside his Friends co-stars Matt Le Blanc and David Schwimmer in preparation for the Friends reunion in 2021.
Perry was unaware that he was still in the frame as Schwimmer spoke with the interviewer during the three of them’s interview for Entertainment Tonight.
He started signaling to others off-camera to calm down, but Le Blanc had his back.
The former Top Gear host said, gently prodding him, «Matty, that’s the girls doing an interview.»
«You’re on camera,» he said respectfully.
Perry was embarrassed and asked the reporter, «Are you in a three-shot position seeing me do that?»
Laughing, the late 54-year-old joked that he ‘looked like a crazy guy’.
Friends fans have raved about the cast’s friendship in the aftermath of Perry’s death, specifically applauding Le Blanc for ‘always looking out’ for him.
«As his castmates have said over the years, he was always looking out for them,» one TikTok user said.
«I love how Matt and David were protective of Matthew,» someone else commented.
Another said, «I love how Matt comforts Matthew and makes him understand that the girls are also doing the interview.»
«I love how the boys backed up Matthew and copied him when he thought he was off camera,» another man said.
«Matt covers his best buddy here with true love,» someone else said, adding that ‘you can’t fake decades of friendship.»
Perry talked warmly about the cast’s’special’ special friendship during their Friends reunion in 2021.
«The best way I can describe it is that after the show, at a party or any kind of social gathering, if one of us bumped into each other, that was it,» he added.
«That brought the night to a close. You simply sat with the individual all night, and that was the end of it.
«You apologized to the people you were with, but they had to understand you had met someone special to you and were going to spend the rest of the night talking to that person.»
«And that’s the way it worked.»
